Heinrich Kienberger

Heinrich Kienberger (born December 18, 1934 in Steyr ; † August 1, 2018 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian lawyer , administrative officer and constitutional judge . Kienberger was a member of the Austrian Constitutional Court from 1987 to 1995 .

Career

Heinrich Kienberger was born on December 18, 1934 in the Upper Austrian town of Steyr . He completed his law studies at the University of Innsbruck . There he was employed from 1956 as a research assistant at the Institute for Politics and Public Law before he graduated, and received his doctorate in 1957 as a doctor of law ( Dr.iur. ). Following this, Kienberger completed his legal practice in 1958/59 and joined the state service at the office of the Tyrolean state government in 1959 as an administrative lawyer . In 1975 Heinrich Kienberger succeeded Andreas Saxer as head of the legal department and the constitutional service of the office of the Tyrolean provincial government, and in 1982 head of the Presidium Group. As part of his work in top positions in the Tyrolean provincial administration, Heinrich Kienberger held the official title of Hofrat .

On June 5, 1987, Heinrich Kienberger was appointed a member of the Constitutional Court by Federal President Kurt Waldheim on the proposal of the Federal Council . In this position, too, he succeeded his Tyrolean compatriot Andreas Saxer . From 1988 until he left the Constitutional Court on October 31, 1995, Kienberger was one of the elected permanent consultants of the court.
