Heinrich Koch (painter, 1806)

Heinrich Koch (born September 5, 1806 in Krefeld ; † September 25, 1893 there ) was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School and photographer .

Life

Koch studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1825 to 1838 . From 1829 to 1838 he was a student in the classes of the landscape painter Johann Wilhelm Schirmer . In addition to Schirmer, he emulated the landscape painter Carl Friedrich Lessing . He settled in Düsseldorf. There he exhibited his paintings showing landscapes from the Lower Rhine, the Maas region, the Ahr, the Eifel and the Ardennes from 1831. He also practiced depicting architecture. In 1861 he became a portrait photographer in Bonn while continuing to paint.
