Life

Heinrich Ludwig Lattermann was the son of Gottlieb Immanuel Lattermann, who had owned the hammer mills in Tannenbergsthal in Vogtland and in Morgenröthe since 1797 . After attending grammar school in Bautzen , Heinrich Ludwig Lattermann began studying at the Freiberg Mining Academy . His fellow students included Christian Friedrich Brendel , who later became the machinery director of the Saxon mining industry. After completing his studies, Lattermann took over the management of his father's hammer mills. In 1811 he also bought the Rautenkranz hammer mill . Among the best-known products of the Lattermannschen Eisenwerke are the Themis statue on the tower of the town hall in Zeulenroda and the Schwarzenberg blower created by Brendel for the Antonshütte .

Lattermann was a mountain commissioner and sat from 1833 as a member of the trade and factory sector in the second chamber of the Saxon state parliament . The hammer mills were taken over by his sons Robert and Hermann , who was also a member of the Saxon state parliament between 1851 and 1855.
