Heinrich Stommel (* 1842 in Ruppichteroth ; † December 30, 1917 in Bucks County , Pennsylvania ) was a German pastor who emigrated to the United States . He is an important foundation figure in the municipality of Ruppichteroth.

Pastor Heinrich Stommel was born in the district of Hodgeroth and celebrated his first birthday in Ruppichteroth. In 1872 he emigrated to America, where he continued to work in pastoral care. On October 1, 1890, Stommel became a pastor at St. Alphonsus' Church in Philadelphia . He was buried there in the Holy Redeemer Cemetery .

Between 1906 and 1914 he made nine foundations for the Ruppichteroth Church . He collected the money in his new church. At the request of the Ruppichteroth pastor Dechant Lapp , he donated 14,000 marks for the Gertrudis donation . The house was named after his sister. The other foundations concerned cleaning the church, equipping first-time communicators , school meals , nursing the sick and other social purposes. Reverend Henry Stommel never saw his old home again.
