Heinrich Uffelmann (born January 2, 1641 in Verden , † May 11, 1680 in Lüneburg ) was a German Protestant theologian.

Life

Heinrich Uffelmann was the son of the royal Swedish council and royal judge in Verden Burchard Uffelmann (born September 3, 1599 in Bevern; † June 29, 1664 in Verden) and his wife Anna (born June 21, 1609 in Verden; † September 15 1642 ibid), the daughter of the princely episcopal Osnabrück secret chamber secretary Heinrich Lemke († January 1613) and his wife Margarethe († 1634). This in turn was the daughter of the lawyer in Göttingen Eonricus Steinow.

Heinrich Uffelmann laid his educational foundations in his hometown. After moving to school in Stade in 1655 , he went to high school in Bremen in 1657 and began studying theology at the University of Giessen around Easter 1658 . Here he attended the lectures of Peter Haberkorn , Johann Nikolaus Misler , Michael Siricius and Kaspar Ebel . On December 15, 1660, he had earned the degree of master's degree in philosophy.

In 1661 he went to the University of Helmstedt , where he became professor of ethics on June 20, 1665 . There he continued his theological studies in the doctorate in 1676 Doctor led theology.

In 1677 he was called to Lüneburg as a preacher by Duke Georg Wilhelm von Braunschweig-Lüneburg , where on September 2 he took over the high school professorship for theology at the Illustre high school. He stayed that way until he died of consumption. Various disputations date from his time as a university lecturer in Helmstedt. Various sermons, which have also appeared in print, date from his time in Lüneburg.
