Henry VII (Glogau-Sagan)

Heinrich VII. Von Glogau (also Heinrich VII. "Rumpold" ; Heinrich VII. Von Glogau-Sagan ; * before 1345 ; † 1394 ) was from 1369 to 1378 ( together with his brothers ) Duke of Sagan and ( ducal ) Glogau and from 1378 sole duke of the ducal Glogau and Steinau . He was a feudal man of the Crown of Bohemia and came from the Glogau branch of the Silesian Piasts .

Life

His parents were Heinrich V "the Iron" († 1369) and Anna († 1363), daughter of Duke Wacław von Płock . In 1372 he married Hedwig († 1409), a daughter of Duke Wenceslas I of Liegnitz .

When his father Heinrich V died in 1369, Heinrich VII. "Rumpold" and his older brother Heinrich VI. "The elder" and the younger brother Henry VIII. "Sperling" not yet of legal age. Therefore, they were initially under the guardianship of Duke Ruprecht I of Liegnitz , who married her sister Hedwig, who was already widowed at the time, in 1372. The Liegnitz Duke Ludwig played a mediator role in the inheritance disputes that arose . He was a brother-in-law of her late father and succeeded in preventing his inheritance from being divided for the time being. In the division of 1378 Heinrich VII. "Rumpold" received half ( ducal ) Glogau as well as Steinau and Guhrau .

Heinrich VII. "Rumpold" died in 1394 unmarried and without descendants. Since his brother Heinrich VI. d. Ä. had already died a year before, the entire property except for half of Guhrau, which had to be given to Oels , from 1394 to Heinrich VIII. "Sperling".
