Heinrich Voigtsberger
Heinrich Voigtsberger (born February 10, 1903 in Untermhaus ; † March 17, 1959 in Wittlich ) was a German officer , most recently major general in World War II .
Life
Voigtsberger served in the Reichswehr from 1922 and was promoted to lieutenant in the 4th Company of the 15th Infantry Regiment on January 1, 1930 .
During the Second World War he took part in several battles, including the Western campaign , the African campaign , the Battle of Sollum (near Tobruk), the Battle of the Dnepr , the defense against the Uman-Botoşani offensive, on the invasion front (Normandy), the defense against Operation Cobra , the Liège operation , the battle of Aachen , the battle in the Huertgen Forest , the Ardennes offensive , the battle of the Oder and the battle in the Halbe pocket . In May 1945 he was selected by the British captured and 1947 from the captivity dismissed.
