Heinrich Wefing (journalist)

Heinrich Wefing (* 1965 in Darmstadt ) is a German political journalist , architecture critic and book author .

Life

Wefing grew up in Hamburg . He studied law and art history in Bonn and Freiburg and was established in 1994 with a thesis on Parliament Architecture to Dr. iur. PhD.

In 1995 he sat in on the political editorship of the Hamburg weekly newspaper Die Zeit , then in the features section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ). In 1996 he joined the feature section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . From 1997 to 2001 he was their cultural correspondent in Berlin . From 2002 to 2004 he reported from the American West Coast for the FAZ in San Francisco ; He published his experiences in 2005 in the "Instructions for Use" series from Piper Verlag . From 2004 to 2007 Wefing headed the features office of the FAZ in Berlin. In 2008 he returned to Hamburg and is currently a member of the political editorial team of Die Zeit. He is one of the initiators of the Charter of Fundamental Digital Rights of the European Union , which was published at the end of November 2016.

Wefing is married and has two children.
