Heinz-Rudolf Hoffmann

Heinz-Rudolf Hoffmann (born January 13, 1931 in Dresden ; † November 2, 1978 ) was a German educator and politician ( CDU of the GDR ). He was a member of the People's Chamber and chairman of the CDU district association in Berlin in the GDR .

Life

The son of an old family of teachers in Dresden attended secondary school and passed his Abitur as a Kreuzschüler in 1948. He became a member of the CDU on May 6, 1946, the FDJ in 1947 (until 1957) and the FDGB in 1949 . In 1948/49 he was a full-time employee of the CDU district association Dresden-Land. From 1949 to 1951 he studied at the University of Education in Berlin, graduating as a subject teacher for grades 5 to 10 (German and history). From 1952 to 1965 he worked as a teacher in Berlin, first in Friedrichshagen, later in Köpenick and finally from 1963 as director of the Alexander von Humboldt Oberschule in Köpenick . On behalf of the German Central Pedagogical Institute, Hoffmann designed the curriculum for history and contemporary studies in 1955. In 1957, this earned him the post of deputy headmaster of the Köpenick Oberschule as a reward for his work. In 1958 he acquired the qualification for 12th grade teaching in history through attestation .

From 1957 to 1960 he was a member of the Berlin district committee of the teaching and education union and from 1956 to 1965 a member of the CDU district committee in Berlin-Köpenick. On January 28, 1965, he was elected as the successor to Hansjürgen Rösner, who died in October 1964, as chairman of the CDU district association in Berlin. From June 1957 to 1965 he was a member of the city district council of Berlin-Köpenick and from 1967 of the city council of Berlin. From September 1967 he was Berlin representative in the Volkskammer . Hoffmann was the successor candidate from October 1968 (12th party congress) and a member of the main board of the CDU from October 1972 (13th party congress).

Hoffmann died at the age of 47 in a tragic traffic accident and was buried in the St. Laurentius cemetery in the Berlin district of Köpenick .
