Heinz Birthelmer

Heinz Adolf Birthelmer (born February 11, 1884 in Sibiu ; † October 31, 1940 in Graz ) was an Austrian landowner, general director of Eisenstädter Elektrizitäts AG and politician ( NSDAP ) and NSDAP district economic advisor .

Life

Birthelmer was born as the son of the master craftsman Peter Birthelmer from Sibiu. He attended elementary school in his hometown and then completed an engineering school in Germany. He then worked as an electrical engineer and worked for, among others, AEG in Reichenberg . In 1923 he bought an estate, later the Sachsenhof, near Gratkorn in Styria and between 1923 and 1928 he was employed by the “Stewag” in Graz. He then took over the position of General Director of Eisenstädter Elektrizitäts Aktiengesellschaft.

In 1934 Birthelmer acquired Gut Hornegg near Preding and moved in with his family as well as a cook and two housemaids in the castle. In 1940 he sold three quarters of the property again.

Birthelmer was a National Socialist and as such was politically active. Between March 13, 1938 and October 1, 1938 he held the office of regional councilor in the National Socialist regional government in Portschy . After the dissolution of Burgenland , Birthelmer became Deputy Governor and Gau economic advisor in Niederdonau on October 1, 1938 . In this function he was involved in the " Aryanization " of Jewish assets. On October 1, 1940, he had to resign from his political offices due to illness and died a short time later.
