Heinz Horn (Manager)

Heinz Horn (born September 17, 1930 in Duisburg ; † February 23, 2015 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) was a German manager and chairman of the board .

Life

After attending school and graduating from the Leibniz Gymnasium in Duisburg, Horn studied business administration in Frankfurt am Main . During his studies he became a member of Corps Austria . He finished his studies in 1956 with a degree in business administration. Afterwards doctorate he in Münster Dr. rer. pole.

Horn had his first professional position in industry in 1955 as a trainee, then as head of a sales department in a steel processing company in Siegerland. From 1960 to 1965 he worked at Mannesmann AG , most recently as assistant to the board. He then became finance director at Eschweiler Bergwerk-Verein , a group company of ARBED Luxembourg . In 1968 he became managing director of Krupp Industrie- und Stahlbau and was then from 1972 to 1974 board member of Eisen- und Metall AG in Gelsenkirchen . From 1974 to the beginning of 1983 he was again at the Eschweiler Mining Association, initially as a member of the board and finally as its chairman. From 1983 until his retirement at the end of 1994 he was a member of the board of Ruhrkohle AG in Essen , where he was chairman of the board from 1985. Horn was also chairman of the coal mining association and until 2001 a member of the board of directors of ARBED SA
