Heinz Oberbeck

Heinz Oberbeck (born August 20, 1931 in Braunschweig , † January 26, 1995 in Neuwied ) was a German athlete .

Life

He won the bronze medal in the decathlon at the European Championships in 1954 (6263 points = 6532 points according to the 1985 table: 11.2 s - 7.36 m - 13.41 m - 1.80 m - 51.6 s - 16.5 s - 40.62 m - 3.50 m - 52.55 m - 5: 35.1 min).

In the long jump competition of this European championship, he finished seventh (7.20 m).

In 1953 Oberbeck was German champion in the triple jump and in 1954 in the long jump.

Heinz Oberbeck initially started for the sports club MTV Braunschweig and from 1953 for the ASV Cologne . When he competed, he was 1.85 m tall and weighed 93 kg.

He was married to the German gymnast Doris Bethe . The marriage resulted in two daughters and a son.
