For the last season of the old league system with the first-class upper leagues, 1962/63, he joined the traditional club Duisburger SpV in the 2nd League West . However, due to financial difficulties, the DSV was forced to merge with TuS Duisburg 48/99 , so that Eintracht Duisburg was created on July 24, 1964 . Poll said goodbye and went to league rivals Rot-Weiß Oberhausen .

There he played 117 games in the Regionalliga West in which he scored 42 goals.
