Heinz Schott (medical historian)

Heinz Gustav Schott (born August 8, 1946 in Bergzabern ) is a German medical historian , university professor and local politician. His main areas of work are the history of psychiatry , medicine in Goethe's time, alchemical medicine and the history of medical anthropology . Schott has written or edited several books on the history of medicine .

Life

After studying medicine from 1966 to 1971 in Heidelberg , Glasgow (Royal Infirmary) and Munich he was in 1974 when Wolfgang Jacob Institute of Pathology in Heidelberg for Dr. med. PhD . In 1975 he received his license to practice medicine . From 1972 to 1977 he studied philosophy at the universities of Munich and Heidelberg.
