Heinz Stöckel (lawyer)

Heinz Stöckel (born January 15, 1940 in Bayreuth ; † November 23, 2015 ) was a German lawyer . At the end of his career he was attorney general in Nuremberg and honorary professor at the Faculty of Law and Economics at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg .

Career

After studying law, Heinz Stöckel did his doctorate in 1966 at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg on the subject of circumvention and circumvention laws in criminal law . He then became a public prosecutor and judge in Nuremberg and Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate , there as director of the local court. He switched to the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice , where he was initially a consultant for criminal law and later for personnel matters in the higher service . In 1985 he went back to Nuremberg and was first senior public prosecutor at the local higher regional court , and from 1996 to 2005 he was attorney general. In addition, since 1996 he has been honorary professor for criminal law and criminology in the law department of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.

Heinz Stöckel was married and has two daughters. He is buried in the Nuremberg West Cemetery.

Social Commitment

Heinz Stöckel was often socially committed. Since the founding of the association, he has been a board member of the Society for Museum and Art Zirndorf , for many years 2nd chairman of the Fürth Society of Art Friends and for many years an advisory board member of the Dante Alighieri Society in Nuremberg . For the order of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer (Niederbronner Sisters) he was the contact person in cases of sexual abuse.

Honors

In 2001 Heinz Stöckel was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . He was also Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic since 1994 .
