Helen Eadie

Helen Stirling Eadie (born March 7, 1947 in Stenhousemuir , † November 9, 2013 in Dunfermline ) was a British politician and member of the Labor Party .

In the Scottish general elections in 1999 , Helen Eadie won the direct mandate of her constituency of Dunfermline East and moved into the newly created Scottish Parliament . In the parliamentary elections in 2003 and 2007 , Eadie defended her constituency clearly with at least 16% more votes in front of the changing candidates of the SNP . As part of constituency reform in 2011, the constituency of Dunfermline East was abolished and went into the new constituencies of Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath . In the 2011 parliamentary elections she therefore ran for the constituency of Cowdenbeath and won it with a total of 11,925 votes (46.5%), 4.9% ahead of the SNP's candidate, Ian Chisholm. Eadie thus won the Labor Party’s only constituency in the electoral region of Mid Scotland and Fife . All other constituencies went to the SNP.
