Helene Klonisch

Helene Klonisch (born May 15, 1937 - October 15, 2018 ) was a German table tennis player . In the 1950s she was one of the best players in Germany.

National successes

Clonically played with 1. TTC Schwarz-Gelb Dülken in the women's upper league West, the top German division at the time. At the National German Championships she reached the final three times, namely in 1956 and 1958 in mixed with Heinz Nink and in 1959 in doubles with Gudrun Müller . In 1959 she was third in the individual.

She won five titles at the West German Championships of the West German Table Tennis Association WTTV:

  • 1957/58 single
  • 1958/59 singles + doubles with Gudrun Müller + mixed with Heinz Nink
  • 1964/65 double with Lieselotte lataster

In the 1960s she played for the club Post SV Köln, later for the TTC Blau-Weiß Breyell, where she remained unbeaten 78-0 in the association league in the 1976/77 season. In 1982 she returned to her hometown club 1. TTC Schwarz-Gelb Dülken.

International activities

Klonisch was invited to international matches twice. In 1957 they won and lost a game against the Netherlands. On May 4, 1958, she had to give up twice against Denmark.

A year later she was nominated for participation in the individual competitions of the World Cup in Dortmund. In the singles she won against Maria Ignacia Hospital (Spain), but then lost to the Chinese Meiying Sun. She competed in doubles with Gudrun Müller and lost in the first round to the Belgians Ghislaine Roland / Maria Van Kampen. In mixed she started with Herbert Gomolla , results are not known.
