Life
The shoemaker's daughter , who came from Chiemgau , came to Altötting in 1827 as a 14-year-old maid . A year later she moved to Munich. There she became a slave (servant) in the toy shop of the merchant Auracher in Briennerstrasse . As such, she also delivered the toys for the royal children to the Bavarian court and King Ludwig I noticed there because of her beauty. She was portrayed by the court painter Joseph Karl Stieler in Altmünchner Gwand around 1830 for the King's Gallery of Beauties and was considered the epitome of the beautiful Munich woman .
- "... the king even bought the clothes for Helene Sedlmayr: '... to whom I was given a beautiful silver bonnet , silver chains for the bodice, a scarf, dress ...' he notes on December 13, 1830."
In 1834 she married King Ludwig's valet Hermes Miller (1804–1871) and became the mother of a total of ten children, nine sons and one daughter. King Ludwig had himself registered twice as a witness for a son Ludwig Miller (both died young) through representatives. Queen Therese was baptismal witness for Therese Miller, Max von Bayern for Maximilian Miller (later court gardener) and Prince Luitpold von Luitpold Miller (also died young). The marriage was considered happy. Helene Miller died at the age of 85 on November 18, 1898 in Munich.
