Helga van Beuningen

Helga van Beuningen (born July 24, 1945 in Obergünzburg ) is a German translator .

Life

Helga van Beuningen studied English and Dutch at the University of Heidelberg , from which she graduated with a degree in translation. She then taught Dutch at Heidelberg University for 15 years. She has been based in Bad Segeberg as a freelance translator since 1984 .

Helga van Beuningen is one of the most productive translators of contemporary Dutch non-fiction and fiction into German; the authors she has assigned include Cees Nooteboom , Adrianus F. Th. van der Heijden, and Margriet de Moor .

Helga van Beuningen is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works .
