Hellmut Haunschild

Hellmut Haunschild (born January 8, 1928 in Herrieden near Ansbach ) is a German geologist.

Haunschild became a geologist in 1953 and received his doctorate in Erlangen in 1954. From 1955 he was at the Bavarian State Geological Office in Munich. In 1962 he became a councilor, in 1965 a senior councilor, 1970 government director and 1985 senior government director.

From 1979 he became head of the "Geological Land Survey" department.

He published a geological guide to the Nördlinger Ries .
