Helmut Ehrhardt
Helmut Ehrhardt (born April 28, 1927 in Darmstadt ; † May 5, 2011 in Kaiserslautern ) was a German physicist and university professor.
Life
Ehrhardt was in 1959 at the University of Bonn with the working temperature dependence of the mass spectra of hydrocarbon molecules and their interpretation in the context of statistical theory doctorate , his supervisor was Wolfgang Paul . He then worked as an assistant at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau , where he received his habilitation in 1966 . In 1968 he received a professorship at the University of Mainz . In September 1970 he was appointed founding president of the Trier-Kaiserslautern dual university. After the University of Kaiserslautern became independent in 1975, Ehrhardt remained its president until 1981. From 1983 to 1986 he was a member of the Science Council , from 1989 to 1995 Vice President of the German Research Foundation .
