Helmut Jäger
Helmut Jäger (born June 27, 1923 in Biedenkopf ; † April 16, 2017 in Würzburg ) was a German human geographer .
Life
Helmut Jäger studied geography , history , ethnology , German studies and philosophy at the University of Göttingen from 1945 to 1951 . He completed his studies with the state examination for teaching at grammar schools and obtained a doctorate in philosophy. In 1956 he received his habilitation at the Würzburg University . After he was appointed adjunct professor in Göttingen in 1961, he was full professor for cultural geography at the University of Würzburg from 1963 to 1991.
