Helmut Reinhardt (musician)

Helmut Reinhardt (born June 17, 1920 in Liegau ) is a German jazz and entertainment musician ( saxophone , clarinet ).

Reinhardt studied clarinet with Edmund Heyneck in Leipzig, founded a combo with Fred Bunge in 1941 and worked with Heinz Schachtner , Freddie Brocksieper and Max Greger in 1947 . Since 1952 he has played in the Kurt Edelhagen Orchestra , alto saxophone as a set and baritone saxophone as a soloist . Reinhardt was also part of the "Edelhagen All Stars" combo from 1952 to 1957. At that time he was considered "one of the most prominent Mulligan students in Europe". With the Edelhagen Orchestra in Baden-Baden he was also used to record Caterina Valente (1955) and Miles Davis (1956). As Edelhagen 1957 moved to Cologne, Reinhardt remained in Baden-Baden, participated there in 1958 and 1959 recordings with Hans Koller ( Exclusive ), was a musician and arranger for the orchestra by Rolf-Hans Müller and participated in numerous recordings for the Südwestfunk involved . He also played with Werner Baumgart . In the field of jazz he was involved in 33 recording sessions between 1950 and 1963, except for the aforementioned with Freddie Brocksieper.
