Henning Benedikt von Rumohr

Henning Benedikt von Rumohr , also Henning Bendix von Rumohr (* 1717 on Bossee ; † February 4, 1777 ibid) was a German canon and state minister of the prince-bishopric of Lübeck during the grand ducal era .

Life

He was a descendant of the von Rumohr family and son of Cay Rumohr (1688-1770) on Bossee. In 1723 he obtained a benefice in the Lübeck cathedral chapter through the award of the prince-bishop . He later became a thesaurary .

He became the prince-bishop's council and rose under Prince-Bishop Friedrich August to the position of president of the prince-bishop's colleges and thus of the government in Eutin . He was part of the Privy Council of Friedrich August, his government as governor of Paul I (Russia) for the ducal shares in Holstein before the Treaty of Tsarskoye Selo .

He owned the later so-called Warleberger Hof in Kiel, which he had rebuilt from 1765 on. After his death, his friend Caspar von Saldern determined that the estate was heavily indebted. The property (Bossee, Mannhagen) was lost, his widow had to use her wealth to satisfy the creditors and then received a pension from Prince-Bishop August Friedrich von Lübeck, the new Duke of Oldenburg.

Since 1745 he was married to Adelheid Benedicta von Blome from Gut Hagen , Dobersdorf and Borghorst (1725-1806). The marriage resulted in twelve children:

  • Adolf Friedrich (no. 127), died 1813 at Rosenhof - 1773 Grand Prince Chamberlain and Jägermeister;
  • Carl Henning (No. 128), died in Milan in 1822 - Eutinian chamberlain, 1783 district administrator, 1785 legation secretary in Spain, 1792 chargé d'affaires in Sicily;
  • Cay Friedrich died in Jena in 1768, was Holstein-Gottorpsch law firm professor in Kiel;
  • Sophia Benedicta, d. 1808 Preetz Monastery - Lady of the Preetz Monastery ;
  • Hedwig, d. 1844 in Altona ⚭ an Oldenburg Legation Councilor Christoph von Witzleben , d. 1815 in Delmenhorst,
