Henning beer

Henning August Bier (born February 19, 1957 in Cologne - † October 17, 2018 ) was a German physician and professor for ear, nose and throat medicine at the Technical University of Munich .

Life

Henning Bier, a grandson of the surgeon August Bier , studied medicine in Freiburg, Berlin and Düsseldorf. After completing his studies, he initially worked at the University Hospital Düsseldorf and in 1989 switched to the University Hospital Mannheim as a senior physician . From 1991 he worked again at the hospital of the University of Düsseldorf, where he became senior physician in charge and deputy director of the hospital in 1995. In 2007, Bier was appointed professor for ear, nose and throat medicine at the Technical University of Munich and since October 1, 2007 has been head of the clinic and polyclinic for ear, nose and throat medicine at the Klinikum rechts der Isar in Munich.

The focus of research was on tumor diseases in the head and neck area and molecular tumor development. He specialized in operations with computer-aided navigation, lasers and minimally invasive surgical methods.

Bier was married; there are four children from the marriage.
