Henning Schroth (born May 26, 1992 in Hamburg ) is a German ice hockey goalkeeper who last played for the Dresdner Eislöwen in the DEL2 .

Career

Henning Schroth began playing ice hockey at the age of eight in his home town of Hamburg in the junior department of the Crocodiles Hamburg , where he played until 2007. In the 2008/09 season he played in the youth Bundesliga for Augsburg EV . He also played for the U18 team of the Finnish club SaiPa . Schroth then returned to the Crocodiles Hamburg for a year. For the 2010/11 season he moved to Schwenninger ERC . There he played for the next three years for the senior team of the home club in the Regionalliga Süd-West and in the 2012/13 season mainly for the U20 team in the junior Bundesliga. For the 2013/14 season, Schroth moved to Lippe-Hockey-Hamm in the Oberliga West .

He also received a license for the Iserlohn Roosters from the German Ice Hockey League to act as an additional goalkeeper. After Mathias Lange, one of the two Iserlohn goalkeepers, suffered a muscle injury, Schroth was in the Roosters DEL squad for the first time on October 4, 2013 in the home game against the Straubing Tigers . However, he was left behind as a backup behind Sébastien Caron . This ended the game, however, and was not available for the away game on October 6, 2013 at the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg , so Schroth made his debut in the DEL. As a backup, the injured Mathias Lange sat on the bench. In the game Schroth was able to hold 31 of 33 shots and led the Iserlohner to a 5-2 victory. He was then voted the second best player in the game after Roosters captain Michael Wolf . In January 2014 Henning Schroth moved from Lippe-Hockey-Hamm to EHC Timmendorfer Strand 06 in order to gain more game practice.

In the 2016/17 season Schroth played for the Eispiraten Crimmitschau in the DEL2 and completed a total of 13 appearances in the second-highest German division. He then played for EV Lindau in the Oberliga Süd , before he returned to the DEL2 in December 2017 and replaced the injured Sebastian Stefaniszin at the Dresdner Eislöwen .
