Henri Badoux

Henri Badoux (born July 17, 1909 in Aigle ; † October 13, 1997 there , entitled to live in Cremin ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

Badoux attended the Progymnasium in Aigle . He was then the operator and owner of a winery . At the age of 31 he took over the management of the family business and in 1991 handed over the management to his son.

His political career began as a councilor in Aigle from 1941 to 1949 and then as mayor from 1950 to 1956. He represented liberal positions and was a member of the FDP . From 1949 to 1953 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud before he was a member of the National Council from 1951 to 1959 . He lobbied for the winemakers and wine dealers there .

Henri Badoux founded the Confrérie du Guillon ( German : Brotherhood for the Promotion of Wine ) and the Swiss Association of Wine Traders. He was also President of the Cave vaudoise Association for the promotion of Vaudois wines and presided over the Vaudois-Friborg wine merchants' association. He was also a member of the councils of the Vevey Wine Brotherhood and founded the Prix ​​des Murailles literary prize . He received honorary citizenship from Aigle in 1983 .
