Henricus Theodorus Johannes van Vlijmen or Henricus van Vlijmen (born March 11, 1870 in Dordrecht , † September 6, 1954 in Haarlem ) was the Old Catholic Bishop of Haarlem from 1916 to 1945 .

Life

From 1882 he attended the old Catholic seminary in Amersfoort . After completing his studies there, he received on 18 November 1894 by the Archbishop of Utrecht Gerardus Gul , the ordination . Then he was chaplain until 1903 and then pastor in Egmond until 1916 . From 1916 to 1927 he held a pastorate in Haarlem. In 1910 he attended the Old Catholic Church of the Mariavites in Poland .

His election as Bishop of Haarlem took place on July 4, 1916, he received episcopal ordination on October 1, 1912 in IJmuiden by Archbishop Gerardus Gul of Utrecht and Bishop Nicolaus Bartholomeus Petrus Spit of Deventer .

On August 9, 1918, he was Mitkonsekrator at the consecration of Robert Tüchler bishop of the Old Catholic Church in Austria .
