Henrik Weßel (born January 9, 1985 in Marl ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

In his youth, Henrik Weßel played indoor volleyball at VC Marl at home , at RWE Rhein-Ruhr Volleys and at Rumelner TV , with whom he became German A youth champion in 2005 . Later the middle blocker played for the second division VCB Tecklenburger Land and then again in his home country with the regional division VC Marl and TuB Bocholt . In 2009, Weßel moved back to the 2nd Bundesliga North for TSV Bayer Leverkusen and became champions here in 2010. He then played for half a year with Bundesliga club A! B! C Titans Berg. Land , but then returned to TSV Bayer Leverkusen . After two years with the hometown club VC Marl in the Oberliga and Regionalliga, Weßel has been back in the 2nd Bundesliga with Rumelner TV since 2013 .

Career Beach

Henrik Weßel is also active in beach volleyball. His standard partner on the Smart Beach Tour and other national tournaments were his brother Marten Weßel from 2006 to 2009 , Valentin Begemann in 2010 and 2011, and Sebastian Prüsener in 2012 and 2013 , with whom he took 13th place at the German championships in 2012 in Timmendorfer Strand .

Professional

Henrik Weßel works as a physiotherapist in Herne . He also works for the Rot-Weiss Essen U23 team in the Niederrhein football league .
