Sebastian Prüsener (born May 26, 1982 in Munich ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career

Indoor volleyball

Prüsener first played table tennis in Ottobrunn . Born in Munich, he began his volleyball career in 1990 at TSV Unterhaching as an outside attacker. Six years later he moved to ASV Dachau before returning to the Hachingen team in 2000. In 2002 TSV finished third in the German championship with Prüsen and a year later the club reached the final of the DVV Cup for the first time , which was lost to VfB Friedrichshafen . Then Prüsener should be appointed as a libero in the national team, but because of a dispute with the then national coach Stelian Moculescu and the burden of the Abitur, he renounced the international matches.

2004 Prüsener was in his first season at SCC Berlin equal German champions . Four years later, a serious injury caused a turning point in his career. In the second playoff final of the 2007/08 season against Friedrichshafen, he suffered several torn ligaments and a broken ankle on his left foot, which forced him to take a break for months. He moved to the neighboring first division club Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen and played there as a Libero after his rehab. In the summer of 2010 he was also active in the national team and took part in the World League and the World Cup in Italy . After international missions he wanted to leave Netzhoppers, but couldn't find a new club and therefore stayed in Brandenburg for another season. In 2011 he returned to Haching and succeeded Ferdinand Tille . With the Hachingen team, he was German runner-up in 2012 and DVV cup winner in 2013 . Then Prüsener moved to second division TSV Herrsching , with whom he rose to the German upper house after a third place in 2013/14 in the second Bundesliga South . After a Bundesliga season with Herrsching, Prüsener ended his volleyball career in 2015.

For years, Sebastian Prüsener appeared regularly in the rankings of German volleyball in the top positions of acceptance, defense and libero.

beach volleyball

In addition to his indoor career, Prüsener also played beach volleyball in the summer. In 2004 he first formed a duo with Jan Günther . In 2006 Prüsener / Günther won their first tournament in Cologne . The following year they celebrated their greatest successes in the sand. In the Smart Beach Tour they won the tournaments in Norderney and Bonn and in the German Championship in Timmendorfer Strand they reached fourth place. In 2011 Prüsener played with Manuel Rieke . Her best results were two fifth places in German tournaments.
