Henrique Hilário Meireles Alves Sampaio (born October 21, 1975 in São Pedro da Cova ), called Hilário , is a former Portuguese soccer goalkeeper who was last under contract with Chelsea in the English Premier League.

Although he was only picked as number 3 in the Champions League favorites from London, as he has a good relationship with his coach José Mourinho , he was now number 1 between the posts. He owes this to a game of Chelsea FC in the Premier League against Reading FC on October 14, 2006, when first goalkeeper Petr Čech broke his skull after two violent clashes and then substitute goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini swallowed his tongue. In his short time as a representative he was praised from many quarters. For example, he saved an important penalty against Sheffield United that would have left Chelsea behind.
