Heorhij Ihorowytsch Leontschuk ( Ukrainian Георгій Ігорович Леончук ; born May 24, 1974 in Potsdam , GDR ) is a Ukrainian sailor .

successes

Heorhij Leontschuk took part in the Olympic Games three times with Rodion Luka in the 49er dinghy . At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , they finished the regatta with 122 points in tenth place, before winning a medal four years later in Athens . With 72 total points, they won the silver medal behind the Spaniards Iker Martínez and Xabier Fernández and ahead of Chris Draper and Simon Hiscocks from Great Britain. They finished their last games together in Beijing in 2008 with 139 points in 15th place.

In World Championships Heorhiy Leontschuk and Rodion Luka won the 49er dinghy 2001 in Malcesine , 2003 in Cadiz and 2008 in Melbourne each the bronze medal. In 2005 in Moscow they won the title. Ten years later, Leontschuk secured another bronze medal in the dragon boat class in La Rochelle .
