Herbert Baier

Herbert Baier (born January 18, 1920 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Baier belonged to the FV Saarbrücken as a striker , with whom he took part in the final round of the German championship 1942/43 . He was used for the first time on May 2, 1943 in the first round match in the 5-1 victory over FC Mülhausen 93 and scored his first goal with the 3-0 goal in the 45th minute. Two more were to follow, because in the last sixteen and quarter-finals on May 16 and 30, 1943, in the 5-0 win at SV Victoria Köln and in the 3-2 win over VfR Mannheim in the Kieselhumes home stadium , he showed with the goals to the final score in the 80th and 76th minute as accurate.
