Herbert Fitzek

Herbert Fitzek (born April 27, 1957 in Cologne ) is a German cultural and business psychologist.

Life

Fitzek studied psychology , philosophy and psychopathology at the University of Cologne from 1977 to 1985 with a diploma in 1985. He then taught there as a research assistant to Wilhelm Salber at the psychological institute. In 1993 he received his doctorate, in 2005 he completed his habilitation in psychology at the University of Cologne with a thesis on the comparison of methods in qualitative psychology and then worked as a private lecturer at this university. His work and publication focus in Cologne were the subjects of the history of psychology , everyday and cultural psychology as well as qualitative methods in psychological research.

1991–1996 he completed training in psychotherapy based on depth psychology (analytical intensive counseling). From 1991 to 1994 he worked in the psychotherapeutic outpatient clinic of the Psychological Institute in Cologne, and in 1999 he received his license to practice as a psychological psychotherapist.

In 2006 Fitzek was appointed to a professorship for economic and cultural psychology at a private university in Potsdam (Business School Potsdam, now BSP Business School Berlin ). Fitzek has been the prorector of the BSP Business School Berlin since 2010. His research focuses in teaching and research are now cultural psychology and everyday aesthetics, Gestalt theory and Gestalt psychology , psychological morphology , psychological anthropology , history of psychology, qualitative research methods, organizational development and art coaching. From 2009 to 2010 Fitzek was visiting lecturer at the International School of Management (Dortmund), in 2013 at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences , in 2014 at the University of Warsaw and at the Polish Academy of Sciences .

Fitzek has published numerous books and more than 70 other publications in various academic journals and manuals. He is a member of the board of the Society for Cultural Psychology and the extended board of the International Society for Gestalt Theory and Its Applications (GTA). Since 1986 he has been one of the editors of the magazine Zwischenenschritte. Contributions to a morphological psychology . Since 2012 he has been - together with Fiorenza Toccafondi, Silvia Bonacchi, Geert-Jan Boudewijnse, Jürgen Kriz , Gerhard Stemberger and Hans-Jürgen Walter - editor of the international multidisciplinary journal Gestalt Theory .
