Herbert Müller-Fried

Herbert Müller-Fried (born July 23, 1912 in Lübeck , † September 5, 2007 in Bad Schwartau ) was a German graphic artist and painter .

Life

After attending Marquard Middle School and training as a poster artist , he began studying at the Hanseatic College of Fine Arts in Hamburg (1934–37). In 1938 he retrained to become a technical draftsman and worked for the Germania shipyard in Kiel and the German weapons and ammunition factory in Lübeck-Schlutup . From 1945 he worked as a freelance graphic artist for commercial graphics and as a freelance artist in Lübeck. For 50 years he has been part of the history of the Hanseatic city and designed memorial plaques, certificates, medals and much more for Lübeck. The graphic artist was married to Lotte Müller-Fried, b. Freelandt, and father of three daughters and one son.
