Herbert Waldenberger

Herbert Waldenberger (born February 27, 1935 in Ludwigshafen ; † July 18, 2017 in Landau- Queichheim ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1970 to 1990 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Life

Waldenberger, who was a Catholic denomination, attended elementary schools in Ludwigshafen, Annweiler am Trifels and Wolfsbach, Landshut district from 1941 to 1946, and the classical grammar school in Landau from 1946 to 1952 . In 1952 he passed the secondary school leaving certificate there and attended vocational school from 1952 to 1955 and did a commercial apprenticeship in Landau. After completing his apprenticeship in 1955 as an industrial clerk, he worked from 1952 to 1975 as a balance sheet and payroll clerk in a medium-sized construction company, where he became an authorized signatory in 1969. From 1975 to 1996 he was managing director of the Südpfalzwerkstatt for the disabled in Offenbach an der Queich .

politics

Waldenberger became a member of the JU and CDU in 1956 . From 1960 to 1964 he was district chairman and from 1964 to 1970 district chairman of the JU and from 1961 to 1965 a member of the JU regional executive committee. In the CDU, he was a member of the CDU district executive from 1960 to 1992, district chairman from 1978 to 1992 and from 1965 to 1991 a member of the CDU district committee for Palatinate and Rheinhessen-Palatinate. He was a member of the CDA.

In terms of local politics, he was a member of the Landau City Council from 1964 to 1984 and was temporarily deputy parliamentary group chairman.

From June 2, 1970 to February 28, 1990 he was a member of the state parliament in the 6th to 11th electoral term. In the state parliament he was first a member of the legal committee and then the social committee. In 1989 he was a member of the 9th Federal Assembly .

In addition, from 1976 to 1991 he was chairman of the LAG of workshops for disabled people, from 1976 to 1996 member of the presidium and in 1984 deputy chairman of the federal work group of workshops for disabled people, member of the Senate of the Heidelberg Rehabilitation Foundation, on the board of the Catholic youth welfare association of the Speyer diocese, Member of the administrative committee and from 1999 to 2011 chairman of the Ecumenical Social Welfare Station in Landau, member of the district committee and 1996 to 2000 chairman of the district committee of the Europa-Union.
