Hermann Berger (born November 9, 1905 in Olten ; † July 22, 1979 there , entitled to live in Spiez and Olten) was a Swiss politician ( SP ).

biography

Hermann Berger was born in Olten as the son of the switchman Eduard Hermann Berger. After attending primary and district school in Olten, he settled on the teacher training college of Solothurn train. Subsequently, from 1926 on, he took over the post of primary school teacher in Aetingen , in 1927 in Luterbach and in 1931 in Olten. His last job was that of a trade teacher in Olten from 1943 to 1970.

The SP politician was politically active at community level from 1929 to 1931 in the Luterbach local council and from 1941 to 1973 in the Olten local council. In addition, he was represented in the Cantonal Council of the Canton of Solothurn from 1937 to 1957 , of which 1957 as President. Finally, he was elected to the National Council from 1963 to 1971 . In addition, from 1949 he was president of the delegates' assembly of the Consumverein Olten and board member of the cooperative printing company Olten. Hermann Berger was involved in music, theater and sports clubs and was one of the leading figures in the Olten Social Democrats from the 1940s to 1960s .

Hermann Berger, who married Lilie (née Schwaller) in 1932, died on July 22, 1979 at the age of 73 in Olten.
