Hermann Blome (born October 3, 1920 , † February 13, 1998 ) was a German journalist , chancellor advisor and film producer .
Act
Blome was editor of Der Spiegel magazine from 1949 to the mid-1950s . There he was the first office manager of the magazine in what was then the federal capital of Bonn . Among other things, he researched a story for four weeks in 1950 about the secret preparatory measures for the establishment of a future Ministry of Defense. The publication via the "Graf Schwerin Office " with the code name Zentrale für Heimatdienst (ZfH; predecessor of the Blank Office and later Ministry of Defense ) was planned for September 13th of that year. The ZfH learned of the planned publication on September 6, 1950. Achim Osterthen recommended to forestall the Spiegel and go public with the plans before September 13th. Even before this plan was implemented, the article “Remilitarization under Count Schwerin?” Appeared in the Aachener Zeitung on September 11, 1950 , written by Karl Lohmann, a relative of Count Schwerin's wife.
In 1956 he was appointed as the publishing director for a new FDP organ for the Bundestag election campaign in 1957 , which was to bear the title "German weekly newspaper". After the project was discontinued, an editor-in-chief had to be resigned. Walter Scheel acted as the company's liquidator .
In preparation for the 1965 federal election campaign , Blome was one of the important members of Ludwig Erhard's “Sonderkreis”, an advisory group modeled on the US spin, alongside Rüdiger Altmann , Johannes Gross , Manfred Koch-Hillebrecht , Rudolf Wildenmann and Ministerialrat Hartmut Bebermeyer and Hans Klein -Doctors who supported and advised Erhard in PR questions on current political issues.
In 1964 Hermann Blome also founded the school film production company GIDA - Society for Information and Representation Hermann Blome, based in Remagen - Oberwinter . Blome created films for German industrial companies as well as for public clients, including the Ministry of Economics , the press office and the German armed forces . The "Film Lexikon der Wirtschaft", which he designed for imparting basic knowledge of the market economy to secondary schools, is considered the most widespread filmic teaching medium of its kind. In 1994, Blome retired. At the same time, the legal form of GIDA was changed from KG to GmbH and his son Konstantin Hermann Blome (* 1959) was appointed managing director. Hermann Blome's eldest son is Alexander Hermann Heiso Blome (* 1955). His youngest son is the journalist Nikolaus Hermann Blome (* 1963).
After the death of Hermann Blome, Konstantin Blome moved the GIDA headquarters to Odenthal in 1998 .
