Peter M. Quadflieg

Peter Maria Quadflieg (born January 6, 1982 in Aachen ) is a German-Belgian historian and archivist . He is head of the city ​​archive of the state capital Wiesbaden .

Life

Peter Maria Quadflieg was born in Aachen in 1982. From 1988 to 2001 he attended schools abroad a. a. the Istanbul branch of the German School Ankara and the German School Paris . After graduating from the Royal Athenaeum Eupen (Belgium), he studied history, economic and social history and economics at RWTH Aachen University (MA). From 2004 to 2007 he was a student assistant in the DFG-funded research project "Supra-regional development of personal sources on members of the armed formations of the 'Third Reich'". He completed internships in the State Archives in Eupen and in the German Bundestag . In 2007/08 he received a scholarship from the Faculty of Economics. In 2009 he became a research assistant in the teaching and research area of ​​economic, social and technological history ( Paul Thomes ) in the Faculty of Economics. In 2014 he was awarded the doctoral thesis Gerhard Graf von Schwerin (1899–1980). Career paths of a general between the German Empire and the Federal Republic to become a Dr. rer. pole. From 2015 to 2017 he was an archive trainee at the Hessian State Archive in Marburg and at the Archive School in Marburg . After his archival state examination as assessor of archives, where he was employed from June 2017 to April 2020 as deputy head of the department at the State Archives in Eupen. Since May 1, 2020, he has headed the Wiesbaden City Archives, where his responsibilities include the development and implementation of concepts for future-oriented digitization.

Quadflieg is a member of various clubs and organizations u. a. in the Military History Working Group , in the Brauweiler District for Regional and Contemporary History eV, in the Scientific Advisory Board of the Center for East Belgian History in the German-speaking Community of Belgium , in the Belgian-German Border History Working Group, in the Historical Belgium Research Working Group and in the Association of German archivists .

Quadflieg is married and lives in Wiesbaden.
