Hermann Hagenah

Hermann Hagenah (born February 8, 1890 in Stolk , † April 30, 1948 in Bad Segeberg ) was a German teacher and regional historian.

Life

Hermann Hagenah grew up in fishing. He passed his Abitur at the Reform Realgymnasium in Kiel and then studied history, modern languages ​​and philosophy in Kiel and Bonn. In 1916 he received his doctorate. He began his school service in Wyk auf Föhr, where he headed the higher private school from 1920-21. He then switched to the state school service and initially taught at the Realgymnasium in Rendsburg, then for the next 25 years until his death as a teacher at the Dahlmann School in Bad Segeberg .

Hagenah's research interest was decisively influenced by his processing of the archive of the Ahlmann family, with which Ludwig Ahlmann had commissioned him during his studies in Kiel and from which u. a. his later work on Wilhelm Hans Ahlmann resulted. As a student, Hagenah began to publish articles on the history of Schleswig-Holstein in daily newspapers and magazines, often with a biographical focus, especially on the Schleswig-Holstein survey . 1931–33 Hagenah was a board member of the Society for Schleswig-Holstein History.
