Hermann Hardt

Hermann Richard Hardt (born May 24, 1866 in Lennep ; † December 10, 1938 in Lennep) was a German businessman and entrepreneur as a co-owner of the Johann Wülfing & Sohn cloth factory .

Hardt was active in local politics as a city ​​councilor and at times belonged to the district council and the provincial parliament . He received the honorary title of a (royal Prussian) commercial council and the honorary citizenship of the city of Lennep.

In 1917/1918 he was head of the textiles department in the War Ministry . At Christmas 1918 he traveled to Luxembourg , where the first peace negotiations with the Entente took place. In 1919 he took part in the negotiations in Versailles as a delegate .

The Hardtpark, located in Remscheid-Lennep today, is named after him.
