Hermann Irgahn

Hermann Irgahn (born June 21, 1820 in Gransee , † November 16, 1906 in Hamm ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born the son of a tax inspector, he went to high schools in Zittau , Halberstadt and Schweidnitz before becoming a one-year volunteer and later an officer in the Landwehr . In 1840, while studying law in Berlin and Breslau , he became a member of the Raczek fraternity . From 1843 he was an auscultator at the Schweidnitz district court and then at the Breslau Higher Regional Court , where he was promoted to assessor in 1847 . In 1850 he became public prosecutor in Waldenburg and Landeshut , then from 1853 in Tilsit . From 1855 to 1858 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Tilsit . In 1862 he became a senior public prosecutor at the Berlin City and District Court. After serving at the Paderborn Court of Appeal from 1870 , he went to the Hamm Higher Regional Court in 1878 . In 1888 he became a secret senior judicial officer and in 1900 an honorary citizen of Hamm. In 1902 he went as a Privy Counselor upper and excellence in retirement .
