Hermann K. Stützer (* 1952 in Teisendorf ) is a former German politician who was state chairman of the FDP in Bavaria from 1998 to 2000 .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1973 at the Anton-Bruckner-Gymnasium in Straubing, Stützer studied horticultural science and constitutional law. After the death of his father, he broke off his studies, completed an apprenticeship as a gardener and took over the management of his parents' business for 20 years. He later completed a degree in International Culture and Media Management at the University of Linz , which he completed in 1999 as a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS).

Hermann K. Stützer is married and has three children. He lives in Teisendorf and Salzburg .

Political party

Stützer joined the FDP in 1997 and in the same year became FDP district chairman in Berchtesgadener Land. In 1998 he was surprisingly elected regional chairman of the Bavarian FDP . At the following federal party conference he was elected to the FDP federal executive committee. He took over a state association that had been weakened and divided by financial scandals, and he pushed ahead with its restructuring with great success. Already in 2000 he was defeated by Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger at the party congress in Dingolfing in the election of state chairman , who prevailed in the second ballot with 201 to 193 votes. In 2001, his office in the FDP federal executive committee ended as scheduled.

In the local elections in 2002, supporters ran for the office of district administrator in the Berchtesgadener Land district , but only achieved 1.57% of the votes cast. After an unsuccessful candidacy in Lower Bavaria for the federal election in 2002, he finally resigned from the FDP. He justified this step with the fact that the federal FDP was developing into a “fun party” and the Bavarian state association had developed “clearly totalitarian traits”.

mandate

In the local elections in 2002, the FDP won a mandate in the district council of the Berchtesgadener Land district , as it did in the previous election periods , which he himself received. After leaving the FDP, he continued to belong to the district council as an independent district councilor. In 2006 he resigned. For a long time it was not possible to fill a position because several people who had come in line refused to accept the position or did not meet the eligibility requirements.

Social offices

Stützer became executive chairman of the East-West Business Club in Munich in 2001, but was suspended in the same year by President August Lang . Since 2004 he has been President of the European Society in Salzburg.
