Political career

Lehmann joined the NPD in 1969 and became involved in its youth organization, the JN. In 1983 the current JN federal chairman, Rainer Vogel , was disempowered and expelled from the party . Thereupon Lehmann took over the federal chairmanship of the Young National Democrats from 1983 to 1987. According to Dudek, his primary task was to calm down the youth organization and (re-) rapprochement with the mother party. From 1991 to 1993 he was deputy party chairman of the NPD under Günter Deckert .
