Hermann Lenhartz
Albert Dietrich Hermann Lenhartz (born December 20, 1854 in Ladbergen , † April 20, 1910 in Hamburg ) was a German doctor .
Life
Hermann Lenhartz was born as the son of the pastor and consistorial councilor Gustav Lenhartz (née Lenhards) and Sophie Amalie née. Möllenhoff was born in Ladbergen . He studied medicine in Marburg , Göttingen and Leipzig . From 1873 he was the Teutonia Marburg corps bow bearer .
After receiving his doctorate in 1878, he worked from 1879 to 1883 as an assistant at the Medical Clinic of the University of Leipzig under Ernst Leberecht Wagner , whose daughter Johanna he married in 1884. After his assistantship he settled in Leipzig as a general practitioner . In 1886 Lenhartz became a private lecturer , and in 1893 an associate professor and head of the Leipzig Polyclinic .
On the initiative of the renowned Hamburg art historian and cultural scientist Aby Warburg , among others , the Hamburg Senate brought Lenhartz to Hamburg in 1895 as director of the St. Georg General Hospital . In 1901 he became director of the Eppendorfer Hospital (today's University Clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf ). He was appointed to the Secret Medical Council.
Lenhartz's eldest daughter Marie married the doctor, poet and art historian Hans Much in 1912, and his daughter Johanna married the agricultural scientist and politician Wilhelm Müller-Lenhartz in 1911 .
Lenhartz died in Eppendorfer Hospital. He was buried in the area of the family grave in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg, grid square AD 19 (south of Chapel 7).

Lenhartz published numerous medical writings, including microscopy and bedside chemistry , which was long considered a standard work. Treatment methods and diets practiced to this day can be traced back to him and some of them bear his name.
In Hamburg the "Lenhartzstraße" near the Eppendorfer hospital was named after him.
