Hermann Maute (* 1831 in Weinsberg ; † January 13, 1893 ) was a German architect and master builder in Heilbronn .

Together with the Heilbronn city architect Louis de Millas , he built the late Classicist Cotta'sche Villa for Freiherr von Cotta on the Hipfelhof near Heilbronn in 1855 . In 1868 he was named for the first time as an official builder and remained in this post until his death in 1893, from 1891 as a senior official builder. The Villa Dittmar from 1881 in the neo-renaissance style is regarded as his most important work .

From 1889 he ran an architecture office in Heilbronn with his son-in-law Theodor Moosbrugger . In the neighboring town of Sontheim in Heilbronn , Maute and Moosbrugger were the in-house architects of the Ackermann twisting mill , for whom they built or converted many buildings. After Maute's death, Moosbrugger continued the office alone.
