Hermann Nottelmann (also: Herrmann , born September 4, 1626 in Vlotho ; † September 5, 1674 in Lübeck ) was a German educator.

Life

After attending school in Herford, Bielefeld and at the Ratsgymnasium Osnabrück , Nottelmann studied at the University of Helmstedt from 1648 . In 1651 he moved to Leipzig , where he acquired the degree of master's degree.

He first traveled through Germany as court master of several nobles, including Christian Christoph von der Asseburg , and then in 1654 became professor of logic at the Johanneum in Lüneburg . After the early death of the rector Heinrich Bangert , the council of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck appointed him rector at the Katharineum in Lübeck in 1666 . He died in this office in 1674, one day after his 48th birthday.

His widow Elisabeth, b. Schirmer married his successor Abraham Hinckelmann in 1675 . His son Bernhard Arnold Nottelmann (* 1672) became a doctor and in 1705 a city ​​physician in Lüneburg.
