Hermann Schulz (born June 4, 1896 ; † after 1930) was a German football player .

Player career

In 1926 Hermann Schulz went to Hertha BSC , where he immediately qualified for the finals for the German championship by winning the VBB-Oberliga . After he was allowed to represent regular defender Max Fischer at least three times in the league , Schulz did not even play in the finals that were completed second. While he was unable to permanently oust either Max Fischer or Emil Domscheidt from central defense in the following season , he was surprisingly in the 1927/28 championship finals in the 7-0 round of 16 victory against Sportfreunde Breslau as a midfielder in the starting line-up and also He played in this position with a 4-0 semi-final triumph at Holstein Kiel . Then he had to move back into the second rank and could not prevent the final bankruptcy.

This did not discourage him and in the 1928/29 season he finally made his breakthrough as a regular player and played 15 of 18 games. He was also on the court for 90 minutes in the three qualifying matches against the winner of Season B, Tennis Borussia , for the championship. So it was not surprising that he also played all the games in the final round of the German championship and even made it to the final against SpVgg Fürth . However, he was critically injured in the 3-2 defeat after a good hour in a bad foul by Ludwig Leinberger and had to spend six months in hospital with severe neck and skull injuries. It was not until February 1930 that he played a league game again at BV 06 Luckenwalde . Then two more league games should follow. He played his last game in a 3-2 win over Beuthen 09 in the round of 16 of the German championship in 1930 , which was concluded for the first time by winning Viktoria with a 5-4 win against Kiel .

Then Schulz ended his career. In his total of 27 league games, he only suffered a defeat against North-Northwest 98 in the 1928/29 season and otherwise remained undefeated.
