A year later, ten employees were already working on the development, production and marketing of baling presses at HSM. In 1975 the company moved to Salem due to the increased space requirements. Six years later, the product portfolio was expanded to include document shredders, which were marketed under the name Tempo until 1986 , then under HSM . In 1991, with the fall of the Berlin Wall, new opportunities arose for HSM as well, with the takeover of the "Rationalisierungsmittelbau Reichenbach" a new production facility for baling presses was created in Reichenbach. In 1997 and 1998 sales offices were established in Willenhall near Birmingham and in Rochester (Kent) , at the same time HSM of America was established as a US subsidiary. In 2002 the certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2000 took place. A year later, the HSM cutting machines were introduced, in 2004 the V-Press series vertical baling presses. The following year saw the market launch of the patented PET ( polyethylene terephthalate ) crusher technology for disposable containers, and in 2007 the market launch of the HSM digital shredder and the SECURIO document shredder series.
