Hermann Steitz

Hermann Steitz (born October 25, 1904 in Mölschbacherhof , Zweibrücken , † July 3, 1982 ) was a German peasant functionary and politician ( CDU ).

Steitz was President of the Chamber of Agriculture for the Saarland and from 1956 to 1974 President of the Saar Farmers' Association . He was the owner of the Feilbacherhof in Websweiler , which he ran together with his wife Thekla, née Dessloch. His daughter-in-law is the former member of the state parliament, Christel Steitz .

Steitz joined the NSDAP on April 1, 1932 ( membership number 1.120.258). In 1957 he joined the CDU. For the state election in Saarland in 1960 , he was elected via the state list (2nd place). The Landtag was constituted in January 1961. Steitz also sat for the CDU in the Saarland Landtag in the 5th electoral period (1965–1970) . In the Federal Assembly in 1964 he took part in the re-election of Heinrich Lübke as Federal President for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .

Honors

Steitz received the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 1971 and the Saarland Order of Merit in 1976 .
